Explore Bulgaria - Rusenski Lom Natural Park

Our getaway to Bulgaria begins with our arrival in Nisovo village, 30 km from Ruse. We will be accommodated in a family hotel, located in the middle of nature, in the heart of the natural park that we will discover. On the first evening, depending on the time of arrival, we will enjoy a walk through the village to a rocky plateau, about 1.5h.

We start this day with a short transfer to Cherven, 15 km from the accommodation, we visit the medieval fortress - one of the most important military, economic and religious centers in the Second Bulgarian Country.
Then we go through the Rusenski Lom Natural Park. We pass the former Christian stone monasteries from the 13th and 14th centuries and reach the village of Koshov. Here we will have lunch at a guesthouse. We continue with a panoramic walk around the village of Koshov, admiring the beautiful meanders of the river Cherni Lom with its landscapes and the beautiful canyon. We visit the rocky churches of the Blessed Virgin with its preserved frescoes from the 14th century - a masterpiece of Christian art and painting. At the end of the day we will have a transfer back to Nisovo.

A relaxing morning in the village of Nisovo. We enjoy the pool or visit the local winery. If we didn't have time on the first day, this will be a perfect opportunity to enjoy one last walk through the village or do another longer one, of about 3h. On the way to Romania, before Ruse, stop at St. Dimitar Basarbovski - the only still active rock monastery in Bulgaria.
