A unique holiday in Veliko Tarnovo

Arrival in Veliko Tărnovo (110 km from Ruse) and accommodation in a charming 3* hotel. In the evening you can start exploring on your own a little the old fortress of the tsars.

To have a complete experience and a special vacation, we start with a hike from Veliko Tarnovo to the Monastery of the Transfiguration, a historical and religious monument dating from the 11th century. We will have lunch here, out in the open. Then we’ll continue to the Hotnitsa Ecotrail (1h). It is located near the village with the same name, about 15 km away from Veliko Tarnovo. It is an ecological route along a river, with waterfalls and a beautiful small canyon.

On our last day we will visit the Tsarevets Fortress and enjoy a panoramic walk to the historic village of Arbanassi (1.5 hours), where we will visit a painted church - St. Archangel Michael. Arbanassi is known for its rich history and large number of historical monuments, such as 17th and 18th century churches and examples of Bulgarian National Renaissance architecture.
We will return after this to Veliko Tărnovo, from where we start to get back to Bucharest.
